Set in Ireland, the UK, the bloody theatres of WW1 and the US, Family follows the fortunes of the Gleesons of Monaveen - an Upper middle class, Irish Roman Catholic family in the early decades of the 20th Century from 1909 to 1939. The Gleesons attempt to advance in society through the politically ambitious patriarch, while navigating and bearing witness to tumultuous social and political changes. However as tragedy upon tragedy impacts upon the family through misfortune

 and miscalculation, mere survival becomes the objective.
